Idaho and Eastern Oregon Lions: Sight and Hearing Foundation. "From darkness to light through site."
Our Mission is to be a humanitarian organization dedicated to serve our Lions Clubs, Idaho Communities, and the world, as an outstanding quality provider of sight and hearing assistance. The Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation oversees the following exceptional projects: The Idaho Lions Eye Bank - The Eye Bank obtains, evaluates and distributes corneal eye tissue from humanitarian donors. The Lions Hearing Aid Bank - Provides hearing aids at no cost to qualifying citizens. Lions Personal Assistance - The Foundation screens children for vision and hearing problems, and if necessary will assist in purchasing vision and hearing correction. The Foundation also provides financial assistance for eye and ear operations for the financially disadvantaged. Lions Mobile Screening Unit - The MSU screens children and adults for hearing, vision, blood pressure, glaucoma, and diabetes.

Happy Holidays to all of our Lions, supporters, and recipients. We recently mailed out our 2008-2009 annual report. Please conatct us if you did not receive the report or would like to be on our mailing list. For our Lion members, the report opens up into a poster for future display.
Excerpt from Director message:
The Foundation held a strategic planning retreat this summer to prepare for the future. The retreat helped us restore our commitment to humanitarianism. Thus, allowing us to move forward into a new era of expansion and diversification of our services. Our goals for the future include adding a low vision clinic, family summer camp for the blind, increasing our surgical and therapy assistance to low income individuals, expanding our eye research services and lastly, formalizing our Diabetes Awareness Program.
It has been a privilege to see everyday miracles accomplished through such loyal and energetic service to our communities again this past year. To the Foundation's trustees and Lions Clubs, thank you wholeheartedly for elevating the performance of the Foundation and for the distinctive impact this has had on Idaho, Eastern Oregon and our international communities.
